Meet the Van Haren Family | Ottawa Photographer

These lovely people are also the faces behind the local Neighbours of Stonebridge magazine (quaint little neighbourhood between Manotick and Barrhaven, in Ottawa). Their faces graced the cover of the September 2019 edition to honour their one year anniversary of publishing, which also happened to coincide with their wedding anniversary. Sunflowers are very meaningful to them, and I am so glad that I was able to capture these special moments. Though I could gush about that golden light all day!

Tummy Time with Baby Mia

Baby Mia came to visit the portrait studio for her tummy time milestone session at just under 5 months old. She was absolutely beautiful, and she rocked her little outfit! What a hoot it was to photograph her! World, meet Mia. Here are a few favourites from the session. How do I

Now Booking Roadside Sessions for 2020 | Ottawa Family Photographer

What is a Roadside Session? A roadside session is exactly what it sounds like: a short & sweet photo session just off the main road. I can’t tell you how many times I have driven past beautiful scenery that would look amazing as the background for a family photo, but could not justify having a full session there (full sessions have more variety in the gallery, and especially with children who love to run around they don’t always have the

Newborn Baby Aspen – 10 days new

Baby Aspen came to visit the portrait studio for his newborn photography session at just under 2 weeks new, 10 days old to be exact.  This little guy was the third of his brothers to visit the studio, and I couldn’t be more honoured that his parents have trusted me over and over again with their portraits. I was very excited to create a gallery of images that resembled that of his brothers, highlighted his unique traits, and stuck within the

Meet the Kalra Family | Barrhaven Photographer

How To Beat The Dreaded ‘What Ifs’ Of Your Family Photoshoot

Getting family photos captured can be one of the most rewarding experiences, and the results are beautiful—both visually and emotionally. Of course, I would be lying if I told you that capturing those precious moments was easy. There is so much room for error that many opt out of investing in the experience out of fear, whether it is of something specific or of the unknown. Here are the most common problems that can arise during a family photoshoot, and

Meet the Bury Family | Riverside South Photographer

It was a pleasure to meet these two love birds and their daughter, because they were on board for whatever I had in store for them on that fine rainy morning. Yes, when the deadline is set in stone, I can make it work rain or shine (downpour is a different story), we just wait for a break in the clouds and keep umbrellas nearby. Our Canadian spring does tend to take a while to show up, and I actually

Meet the Black Family | Barrhaven Photographer

This was the last session of the year with the blossoms on the trees, and while I am a little sad that we have to wait almost an entire year for them to come back, the summer has a ton of unique backdrop marvels to choose from. For two people who has never participated in a portrait sessions before, they were naturals at following direction and hamming it up for the camera. A few belly laughs and vogue poses later,

Transitioning from Disposable to Cloth Diapers

When I heard that cloth diapering was still a thing in our modern society, my first thoughts were ‘how old-school’ and ‘ew, poop!’. BUT now that it’s been over a month since we transitioned from disposable to cloth diapers, my viewpoint has certainly changed! After using modern cloth diapers for the last month, I have some qualms, some happy advantages, and my husband and I both learnt some tricks along the way. Let me tell you all about our cloth diaper adventures!

Meet the Donoghue Family | Nepean Photographer

On a brisk winter morning, we set out to the trails of Ottawa for our shoot. Leaving the community of Barrhaven with beautiful blue skies, we found ourselves in the middle of a snow squall for the session. The wonderful thing about the nature trails is that they keep some of the wind at bay, and allow for gorgeous snowfall to be captured in the images. These two were troopers and we got a few images without all of the
