Ottawa Fabric Stores – Emerald Plaza / Nepean

As part of our adventure to discover all of the great Ottawa fabric secretsC&M Textiles was on our shortlist. It is a large fabric store located in Ottawa, hidden away in the far corner of the Emerald Plaza in Nepean. Their flagship store is in Montreal, but this Canadian business is a great addition to the local fabric community in Ottawa.

They have half their store dedicated to their house & home line of upholstery and home decor items, and a team of designers to help you get the perfect look for your DIY room makeover, or a list of contacts to help you find the perfect team to get it done for you–effortlessly.

They also have one of the best bridal sections in the city. The gorgeous lace selection is swoon-worthy for sure! They’ve got more affordable options for the every-day garments, premium bridal lace for your wedding needs, and everything in between.

The rest of their store is filled with almost every type of fabric, including an infant section, licensed patterns, and notions galore.

I use their awesome monochromatic fabrics to use as layering pieces and backdrop options for our newborn and baby photography sessions, and to make maternity gowns. We often create custom props and accessories for our photo sessions, and love it when we can get the majority of our supplies from local shops and vendors. Especially when they are staple items like our backdrops. We recently discovered C&M this past spring, and will absolutely be going back!
