What a milestone to have the honour of celebrating! She really did have to do some convincing when I first heard she wanted to schedule a fun portrait session to document her 50th birthday. And NOT because I wasn’t totally psyched to adventure downtown Almonte for a champagne toast!
Micheline has been a good friend of mine since shortly after I moved to town. She was in a volunteer role leading the local business & tourism association, running her interior decorating and design business, parenting two children, and somehow also managing a full-time position elsewhere. Women really are superhumans!
Imagine my surprise when she informed me that this year was her time to celebrate fifty times around the sun. At first I didn’t believe her… Wise beyond her years, she carries a youthful lustre for life, and it was an absolute honour to be chosen to help her sneak some extra fun into her day and celebrate such an important time in her life.

I might be the queen of neutrals and love minimalism, but that doesn’t mean I don’t know how to step out of my comfort zone and go full-out to celebrate my clients. In fact, creating wall art from fun, bold, over-the-top photography sessions with women and entrepreneurs is something I look forward to every year.
Everyday life may not always be as glamourous as spraying champagne into the air while we laugh uncontrollably at the first several failed attempts, and it often looks a lot more like the cleanup crew duty that followed, but the fun we have along the way with our friends and ourselves is such a rewarding experience.
