How To Avoid The Dreaded Baby Clutter

Spring is [finally] upon us! And with the warmer weather that is hopefully right around the corner, we tend to start thinking about decluttering the house. From sweeping out the dust that has settled over the cold winter months, to opening the windows for some well-needed fresh air, and donating all those clothes you’ve accumulated that still don’t fit. It can be quite overwhelming to go through it all, especially with a baby, so I have found an expert to

Behind The Scenes Of Starting A Family – Chapter 1: The Decision

For those of you who don’t know me, here is a little introduction before we get into it. My name is Stephanie de Montigny, I am happily married to my husband Alex, and love living in the beautiful city of Ottawa (though my heart will always belong to small towns). We are two weird individuals who fell madly in love, and work hard to keep it that way. (Well, it’s been pretty easy so far, but I know things are

Newborn Baby Karma – 7 weeks new

Baby Karma came to visit the portrait studio for her newborn portraits at just over 7 weeks new, 50 days old to be exact. This session was one of our ‘newborn petites‘ and while she was awake most of the time, we got some great smiles from her (perk of older newborns!), and we managed to get a few sleepy images too. Especially once she was comfy in beautiful mama’s arms, so I snapped a few extras for mum.

4 Easy Ways To Self Care

Taking a Mama Minute   I get it; your days of sleeping in and lazy Sundays without pants are behind you. Sometimes it may feel that your “you” time came out of your body during labour. The problem is that you were not given the allotted number of extra hours in the day to accommodate the

Discovering Manotick – A Walk, Skip & A Jump From Barrhaven

I have always loved small towns, having spent the majority of my childhood summers in the dot on the map that is Moonbeam (15 minutes from Kapuskasing, Ontario), and growing up in the then-small town of Whitby. This didn’t change when I moved to Ottawa, but it was certainly an adjustment to the hustle & bustle that is downtown. I quickly moved out of that apartment and over the last decade have lived all over town, and even ventured off

Newborn Baby Aurelie – 2 weeks new

Baby Aurelie came to visit the portrait studio for her newborn photography session at almost 2 weeks new, 10 days old to be exact. Happiness Is At The Bottom Of My Chardonnay

A nice glass of wine at the end of a busy stressful day can do wonders for my mood. Especially a smooth red with my beef tenderloin or a cold glass of dry white with my parmesan crisps. On it’s own works too! While I am lucky enough to share wine taste preferences with my husband, family dinners with my parents require us to open 2 or 3 bottles so that everyone is happy. My dad and I love a dry
