I am thrilled to invite you to the annual Back to School portraits event. I am even more excited this year because we've partnered with the Mississippi Mills Public Library to host the photography sessions IN THE STACKS!
This year, the themed portrait event will take place on September 10th, 2023 at the Almonte Branch. All proceeds from the participation fee will be donated to the MMPL to keep the amazing services and resources local, so you can get those beautiful nostalgic portraits you will love years later AND help support your community all in a fun day at the library.
Join Us for Back to School Portraits at the Library
September is "Read A New Book Month" and "National Library Card Sign-up Month" so join us for a heartwarming day of joy, support, and community to celebrate and raise some funds for our local libraries.
On Sunday morning, families are invited to bring their little ones or big kids for a styled portrait in the stacks of the Almonte Library. Children will have the opportunity to be photographed individually to capture their personalities and authentic selves, far away from the rush of 'picture day'. The certain-to-be-adorable portraits will be available for purchase, with proceeds further contributing to the fundraising efforts.
The library staff will be on-site to help your little one sign up for a library card of they do not already have one, which can be used at the Almonte AND Pakenham branches of the MMPL for borrowing books, puzzles, movies, and more!
Back to School Portraits
All proceeds from the registration fee, set at $99 per child, will be donated directly to MMPL. This will help support their invaluable work in providing well-needed services and resources to our community. Additionally, sponsors are generously working together to support the event, ensuring that every dollar raised will make a meaningful impact.

WHAT IS INCLUDED: The $99 registration fee* includes a portrait captured with the antique desk amongst the books in a commemorative keychain/zipper pull (great for backpacks!), & the opportunity to purchase art prints, wall portraits, album, etc.

*You can also choose to upgrade to the $399 portrait experience (per child) which includes a $300 gift certificate to use towards your print order AND a curated bag of goodies + gift cards from local shops (worth over $75), in addition to the mini portrait session and keychain/zipper-pull.
