Baby Marie-Krystel – 3 weeks new | Outdoor Newborn Photos

Little miss Marie-Krystel came to visit the outdoor studio for her wrapped-baby newborn photography session at just under 3 weeks new.

I was very pleased that the weather cooperated for us this spring, because with the studio being closed during the pandemic, outdoor sessions have been our only option for a while. For a newborn session to take place, it has to be somewhere between 18 and 25 degrees because babies cannot regulate their own temperatures. It can be a little cooler because we are wrapping them in a few layers to keep them happy and asleep, but that’s also why it cannot be too warm either.

The day this session took place was perfect and meant we got to use the beautiful knitted wraps we would have in-studio, and didn’t have to cover up her beautiful head of hair. As with most babies, they love being held, so we got some beautiful images of her in mama’s arms before she was asleep enough to transition her to the bucket setup we had waiting for her.

World, meet Marie-Krystel.

Just goes to show that even the fussiest of babies can be photographed beautifully and you would never know the difference. The only reason I tell you is to reassure you that it is absolutely normal for babies not to want to participate the entire time, and that it is part of any job to make it look otherwise. I’d say this one was a great success, wouldn’t you?

How do I book a photo session?

I’d love to capture your growing family and new baby moments. Use the contact page to send a message to set up a phone consultation so we can discuss details and customize your experience. Newborn Photo Sessions are best held within the first 2 weeks from birth, and Parent&Baby sessions are typically within the first month after baby is born. Reach out so we can create art together.
