30 Things to know about being married to a Newborn Photographer A fellow photographer posted an article about being married to a wedding photographer this morning, but since I focus on newborns and births, I decided to compose a fabulous list for all you out there like myself who just couldn’t complete relate to it. In collaboration with Krista from over at Simply Newborn Art, these are some of the things we came up with, as well as a few originals. Her work wardrobe

CuddleCot for CHEO angel babies | Fundraiser

Fundraiser for a CuddleCot for CHEO’s Angel Babies Childbirth is supposed to be the happiest time in a new parent’s life, but there are far too many times that it becomes their worst fear. While there is only so much we can do to prevent these unfortunate situations, we CAN absolutely help grieving parents get more time to say goodbye to their little ones. I have had friends and many clients

Specializing in Newborn Portraiture

Specialized Ottawa Newborn Photographer   Choosing to Specialize: Why? Choosing to specialize in newborn portraiture was one of the best decisions I have made in my career. I absolutely LOVE taking the time to intricately pose little new born babies into delicate positions to highlight their infinitely tiny beauties and to showcase how small they really are in the beginning. Yes, despite the frequent golden showers and poop explosions, I absolutely love being a newborn photographer. So I quit my day

Baby Amelia – 34 days new

Newborn Baby Amelia This little fighter graced us with her presence many weeks earlier than expected. While her family was overjoyed to meet her, it also had the bitter sweet emotion of having to go home without her for a few weeks. Despite the frequent visits, there is nothing quite like being able to bring your baby home. After about a month, Amelia got the go-ahead from doctors that she could go home. What better way to celebrate a homecoming

Baby Olivier – 42 days new

Newborn Baby – Olivier No matter the circumstances, little newborns will always eat, poop, and *hopefully* sleep during their new born photography session. This little guy was quite the eater, but not so much the sleeper we were hoping for. However, we did catch him in a nice little nap that was just long enough to snap a few gorgeous images for his mommas. He came in for a session along with his twin sister baby Amelie, but since they were both

TWINS Tessa & Pascal – 19 days new

Newborn Twins – Tessa & Pascal There are so many things to think about when photographing twins. I can remember planning for this session in my sleep for months before it happened. I was super excited when I got that message “they are here!” because I knew that I would soon be able to photograph these gorgeous babies. This adorable pair was born almost a month early, so I had to wait a whole 19 days before photographing them to make

Mothers Existing in their Newborn’s Portraits

Mothers Existing in their Newborn’s Portraits   I could speak or write about the importance of Mothers Existing in their Newborn’s Portraits for days. No exaggeration as it is something I am truly passionate about, and the only other thing that captures more of my passion is making sure you are photographing your to capture their constant growth (or hiring someone like me to do so). While I may not have many pictures of my mother and I growing up,
