Crawling with Baby Boy de Montigny – 8 months old

My very own sweet little boy is almost 8 months old and on the move! He is crawling in the weirdest way I have ever seen, almost like what you’d do on a scooter, and it is hilariously adorable. He is super fast now that he’s been crawling for almost a month so I am very happy we captured his sitting milestone BEFORE he was on the move (the video below is the WHY). And let’s not forget those adorable

Mama to Be Chelsea | Almonte Maternity Photographer

Not everyone wants to get a full album of maternity portraits captured and that is totally okay to just want one or a few photos to commemorate their journey to parenthood (or prefer to spend their budget on the newborn session instead), and that is totally okay. The petite maternity session was made especially for those people: a quick and fun session at a photographer-favourite location using a garment from the client closet. It’s also the perfect session for pregnancy

Mama to Be Amelie | Almonte Maternity Photographer

When the sun and weather cooperate beautifully for your maternity session AND the bugs took most of the night off, it’s a great day in my books. This is one of my favourite spots in Mississippi Mills to take clients because it has the best of all the things: waterfront, woody trails, bridges, and clearings for field-like portraits. Plus that golden hour light; chef’s kiss! World, meet Mama to be Amelie. Here are a few favourites from the session: How

Newborn Baby Arthur – 1 week new

Baby Arthur came to visit the portrait studio for his newborn photography session at just over 1 week new, 9 days old to be exact. He was a teeny tiny 6 pounds of sleepy joy and while he was not a fan of few of the setups I had ready for him, he was a champ on the poser and snoozed peacefully through the family poses so we were able to capture some BEAUTIFUL mama&me and 3-generations portraits. World, meet Arthur. Here

Sitting Up with Baby Boy de Montigny – 6 months old

My very own sweet little boy is officially 6 months old and doing amazing with his sitting skills! He is pushing up his whole body like a plank, belly laughing with his gorgeous smile, and has just recently started to sit himself up unassisted. And we can tell he is going to start crawling soon with the way that he is swaying back and forth, so we made sure to capture this BEFORE he’s on the move to make it

Newborn Baby Beverly – 4 weeks new

Baby Beverly came to visit the portrait studio for her newborn photography session at just under 4 weeks new, 26 days old to be exact. She slept beautifully for almost the entire session, even through her sister’s tantrum (lucky for us!), which meant we got an extra setup (petites usually have one). World, meet Beverly. Here are a few favourites from the session. How do I book a photo session? I’d love to capture your growing family and new baby moments. Use

Posing A Toddler Like A Newborn

It’s no secret that I am an advocate for “no such thing as too old” for newborn photos and that we simply need to set proper expectations and posing limitations that come with babies growing older. So when my toddler asked me if I could pose her like mama’s studio babies, I took it as a dual opportunity to get hilariously adorable photos of her AND education tool.   The world loved it! I clearly wasn’t the only one who

Newborn Baby Ellie – 3 weeks new

Baby Ellie came to visit the portrait studio for her newborn photography session at just over 3 weeks new, 24 days old to be exact. She was a champ and slept almost the entire session, and posing her was such a breeze. She certainly made my job easy for posing, but narrowing down images was so difficult (a great problem to have!). World, meet Ellie. Here are a few favourites from the session. How do I book a photo session? I’d love

Newborn Baby Saviana – 3 weeks new

Baby Saviana came to visit the portrait studio at 3 weeks new to participate in a posing workshop. She wasn’t a fan of being touched or posed, which is much more common than you think, but once we were able to get her to sleep, I was able to capture some beautiful images. She even flashed us a huge smile! World, meet Savi. Here are a few favourites from the session. How do I book a photo session? I’d love

Newborn Baby Maxime – 8 weeks new

Not-so-little baby Maxime came to visit the portrait studio for his newborn photography session at just under 8 weeks new, at 52 days old to be exact. At a whopping 13 pounds, he juuust fit into my favourite crate, and capturing those snuggle mama & baby portraits was certainly a challenge to carry him that high but we made it work beautifully. It has truly been an honour to capture this family’s portraits for the last three years, and I look forward

Can you tell which images were an homage to the original session?

What is so special about golden hour?

Clients often ask me why I schedule outdoor portrait sessions “so late” when they include babies and toddlers since it is usually at or after their bedtime. Let me start by reassuring you that starting a photoshoot at your kiddo’s normal bedtime is NOT a recipe for disaster. Because they are out and about, kids are often more likely to enjoy themselves and accept the activity as a fun outing rather than a forced chore-like activity. For toddlers and babies,
