Sitting Fee vs Artist’s Fee vs Artwork

The artist’s fee (so much more than just a ‘sitting fee’) covers the actual portrait session AND all of the perks of the full-service experience. This means anything and everything required for the artist to create beautiful images to fill the proofing gallery at your ordering appointment.

It accounts for your photographer’s time and talent before/during/after the session: all of the pre-session planning & communication, the wardrobe consultation & access to the studio client closet, the personalized photography experience, and basic image editing of the proofs for the custom portrait presentation at your ordering appointment. The artist’s fee is collected at the time of booking with your contract to reserve your spot on the client roster and secure the session date (or guaranteed availability for newborns), and starts at $195.

Artwork is to be purchased separately once you have seen your portrait presentation of the images captured during your session and is not included in the artist’s fee. Each piece of artwork (canvas, frame, album, gift print, etc.) includes the matching low-resolution file(s) for online sharing so that you get the best of both worlds, and wall portraits include to-your-wall delivery. Artwork options start at $347.
