When clients also come to me for their maternity sessions, it is an extra special honour to be able to capture their journey as a whole

Newborn Baby William – 1 week new

Baby William came to visit the portrait studio for his newborn photography session at just under 1 week new, 6 days new to be exact. We lucked out that once he did settle into sleep, he slept through almost the entire session, and flashed us so many adorable smiles. The family and sibling portion of the session went so well that his 4 year old brother insisted that we do more photos of them together. Umm, yes pelase!! Without further ado…

Mama to Be Rachel | Barrhaven Photographer

As much as I love a good posed and smiling portrait, the candid in-between moments are so much more beautiful to me. They capture the emotional connection between people; the joy, the love, the bliss. This session was no exception and we captured beautiful connection portraits in a few different wardrobe options so that we could create some subtle ‘before & after’ portraits during their little guy’s newborn session. See for yourself the beauty that is “posed candid“. World, meet

Newborn Baby Ibrahim – 3 weeks new

Baby Ibrahim came to visit the portrait studio for his newborn photography session at just under 3 weeks new, 18 days old to be exact. His mama was very clear from the beginning that she wanted a sleeping newbornesque image of her little boy, even if it was the only portrait she received. I don’t control babies, but I absolutely DO control the prep instructions, the studio environment, and the effort that goes into my sessions. Despite her little guy being wide

The First Night Home With Baby

I don’t know everything, so I set out to find an expert and I turned to the wonderful ladies from National Capital Doulas. Here is the lowdown on the first night home with baby.– Stephanie Becoming a parent is as wonderful as it is scary and overwhelming. Not exactly what you expected to read, is it? Everyone’s journey to parenthood is different – for some of us it’s fairly straightforward, for some of us it’s anything but. One constant for all of

Meet the Duguay Family | Manotick Photographer

This is one of my all-time favourite family sessions in my entire career, and it’s for much more than just the fact that they are stunning images. This family trusted my decision to pick the perfect location for their needs (annual fall photos & Christmas cards), they followed the wardrobe recommendations from our pre-shoot consultation, they let me tell them what to do and how to pose during the session, and they genuinely wanted to have fun! That was the

Mama to Be Andrée | Barrhaven Photographer

Sometimes couples can’t decide between getting their maternity portraits captured outdoors or in-studio, so we often split the session and get to take advantage of both locations. This lovely set of new parents to be opted for portraits at a local Barrhaven park, and a classic maternity portrait for mama at the studio, and they are all beautiful! World, meet Mama to be Andrée & Dad to be Steve. Here are a few favourites from the sessions. Speaking of choices,

Newborn Baby Noah – 2 weeks new

Baby Noah came to visit the portrait studio for his newborn photography session at just under 2 weeks new, 12 days old to be exact. This crew was the picture-perfect family if I ever did see one; the kiddos were super cooperative and followed instructions, the baby slept like a dream, parents followed the prep guide to a tee, and we all thoroughly enjoyed the session. World, meet Noah. Here are a few favourites from the session. How do I book a

Meet the Van Haren Family | Ottawa Photographer

These lovely people are also the faces behind the local Neighbours of Stonebridge magazine (quaint little neighbourhood between Manotick and Barrhaven, in Ottawa). Their faces graced the cover of the September 2019 edition to honour their one year anniversary of publishing, which also happened to coincide with their wedding anniversary. Sunflowers are very meaningful to them, and I am so glad that I was able to capture these special moments. Though I could gush about that golden light all day!

Tummy Time with Baby Mia

Baby Mia came to visit the portrait studio for her tummy time milestone session at just under 5 months old. She was absolutely beautiful, and she rocked her little outfit! As with all babies, she decided halfway through that she wanted a snack before continuing the session. And then she flashed us a few smiles, as any fresh-fed baby does. What a hoot it was to photograph her! World, meet Mia. Here are a few favourites from the session. How do I

Now Booking Roadside Sessions for 2020 | Ottawa Family Photographer

What is a Roadside Session? A roadside session is exactly what it sounds like: a short & sweet photo session just off the main road. I can’t tell you how many times I have driven past beautiful scenery that would look amazing as the background for a family photo, but could not justify having a full session there (full sessions have more variety in the gallery, and especially with children who love to run around they don’t always have the

Meet the Kalra Family | Barrhaven Photographer

When I found out these two were early risers like me (only thanks to motherhood!), I excitedly planned our session for just after sunrise so that we could take advantage of those soft rays of light, and capture beautiful warm portraits. And the nature trails & boardwalk in Barrhaven was the perfect place to do it! I am also very proud to say that they were featured in the August 2019 edition of the local Neighbours of Stonebridge magazine (quaint
